Setting up is fine, that is pretty much all I used. Never bought a chuck before, just used what my employer had. Regarding HBM being any good is more about quality of casting, machining, chuck jaws etc. I assume they will be okay for what I need which is just general turning, could be anything. I'd be pleased to get a good used one so I'll keep an eye out on ebay as I'm in no particular rush.
Annoyingly I have 3 3 jaw chucks which came with the lathe but no 4 jaw. The guy I bought it from had two lathes with heaps of stuff but he didn't know anything about lathes and I bought mine but when the delivery company picked it up the other was already gone with probably all of the good spares as well.
