Having a crack, advice appreciated!

Having read the really good tutorials and read some of the threads on here [can't believe hove helpful people are compared to other forums!] I am having a crack at welding a peddle car chassis.

Heres my first go, after practise on scrap - it 2mm box and 3mm on the rectangular section, I've got a 135te clarke welder and this was on full power with 0.6 wire.

I know I'm a bit wobbley,but any helpful advice would be appreciated, cheers

Good to see you are having a go
The welds look ok but there looks to be a bit of mill scale/ roll finish on the tube (the black/grey surface. This comes from the way the tube is produced namely when rolled hot it forms a skin which you will find better removed (grind off) where you are going to weld. Makes for easier striking of the arc and you will get less crap in the weld.
If you look inside the tube at the bottom left of your pic you should ideally see signs of penetration if the weld has gone into the metal enough. If not then you may have to do some V prep of the ends of the tube where they butt up to another.
