i only ever boil what i need.a low energy kettle will take longer to boil so would there be a saving ?, what you need is to heat only a small amount of water

I remember themWhen I was a boy my mum had a thing she called an "emerser" for making a single cup of tea. It was basically a metal coil with a plastic handle that plugged into the wall. You stuck the coil into a mug of cold water, plugged it in and let it do its thing. I doubt they're on sale these days.

just put one of these in your kettle and you will never need worry about it again, well for a few years anyway. At 2 quid just replace every couple of years..
John Lewis was the first hit on google but loads of people sell them and they work well.
