have I messed it up (euro torch)

Hi everyone I was about to have my first attempt today with my used castomig 180 and noticed that the shroud was bunged up from previous owner who demonstrated it on a hefty bit of steel and laid 2 long runs that looked very impressive and in my ignorance I turned the shroud as if undoing a thread and the result is in the pic I obviously need to replace what I have damaged but I better leave it you more knowledgeable people to tell me what I need and how to do it thanks Chris

It's only the spring that's bent. Very cheap (I've had to replace them in the past myself).

Weldequip will have them. If you get in contact with him suggest that he adds them to the shop. Otherwise any other welding supplier should have them.

It's a shroud spring you need. Twist to the right when you are putting a shroud on or taking one off to compress the spring. Some just push on and pull off depends how worn they are.

Thats a relief are they fitted in any special way or is it obvious when I see it I will pick one up tomorrow from tecweld gravesend thanks Chris

Dead easy - just screw them on. There's a cut out that the bent end of the spring sits in. You'll spot that easily.

take the old spring off you may even be able to bend it back into shape untill you can get a new one

you can get the whole of the unit for about a £ if that Chris. 11mm spanner and its a right hand thread I think

Many thanks everyone for your help the torch is sorted just the gauge to sort now and I don't think I will have anymore excuses not to start, at least I wont be able to blame the tools. Thanks again Chris
