I want to automate some seam welds, they are lap joint welds on 1.6mm steel sheet, straight runs of up to 900mm. Basically making fancy boxes, several thousand off.
I can buy a semi automated 2 axis positioner, we have several UR16 robot arms and we have 2 Lorch S8 pulse migs, so we can make something work.
Quality requirements are low, however it will have to be a good visual standard.
I'm not too worried about it, other than the wise size to use. I'm sick of the 1.2 wire we currently use on 3mm steel, it works but it's too hot and undercuts sometimes on speedpulse.
Speedcold or speedroot might work fine, though, haven't tried them yet.
We haven't got this job yet, I'm just getting it into my head how we would actually make them.
Anyone got any thoughts to share?
