Harrison M300 name badges

I posted here a couple of years ago about the refurb of my M300. As part of the refurb I remade Harrison M300 badges, someone on the Harrison mailing list asked me last week if I could make him a set, so I decided to do a small run.

I recreated a 3d model of the name badges from the Harrison drawing.

I don't really want to make huge quantities, this certainly isn't a commercial venture, just an enthusiast with a 3d printer. The background is printed in black PETG, the letters in red PLA (probably a bit brighter red than the "Poppy Red" called out on the Harrison drawing.

Nice work....is that a 600 group drawing or your own? Reason I ask is that my 1990 M300 has an aluminium plate, just wondering the age range of the 600 letters

It’s a 600 group (well T.S.Harrison before the amalgamation) drawing. The drawing shows styrene nameplates and is dated December 1974, with a change history note that they were previously alloy. My machine is mid eighties, and had the holes drilled to accept these. Most of the machines I see on eBay are missing the nameplates, but the holes are there. In a factory environment I can’t see styrene badges (or 3D printed ones!) lasting very long. For home user tarts that have applied fresh paint, they should last just fine. ;-)

Interesting, I had it in my head that the letters had a taper, but maybe they were the alloy ones. Nonetheless you have done a grand job! Worth investigating serial printing on the Prusa to save strings and time between objects.

I serial print some things, but it isn’t without its own problems. The drawing has no taper, but I presume the alloy version was cast pot metal, so probably had a small draft angle.
