Harrison M300 Info plates

I've just emailed 600 group for a price to supply all the information plates for my imperial M300. I really should have known better.

God knows where they get the prices from.

So has anyone ever had replacements made? Or has any one ever digitised them for printing/etching, and still have the files.

Are there any schools/colleges/machinery dealers/other metalbashers locally with an M300 that you could go and photograph?

Yes but in imperial. I have the originals. Don't want to refit them after the rebuild, they let the machine down.

If the info is still legible, scan it and clean up on PS, or recreate using Paint or something like that. I just printed mine on paper and laminated it, but I'm sure you can get stuff printed on metal these days.

There's a member here called John Stevenson who has been doing some laser-engraving work to produce plates like this. I don't think he's active here, only seen one post a while back but I could pass on his email address.

OR

I have some 3M metallised laser printer paper which you put through the laser printer, and just print whatever you want on that then you have a shiny metal sticker with your info on it. Looks the biz.

Thanks Pete. I posted this on the yahoo Harrison group as well, no replies as yet. So started reproducing them in Coreldraw this aft. Shouldn't take long.

You can get silver laser paper on ebay and from Staples etc. No idea how durable it will be though.

It's not exactly cheap at a pound a sheet, but you guys could go half-each on a pack and have 10 sheets apiece.

The stuff's self-adhesive, so if the lathe casing is smooth enough you could just stick it on? I suppose you could stick the label on a sheet of perspex, then screw it on(are the originals screwed on?).

If you wanted them on metal you could try ironing a laser print onto aluminum sheet, then chuck them in caustic. No tried it but it should
work. I ironed the marking on a milling machine pendant and was then going to lacquer them, it was just a test and I didn't finish it.

I bought something off ebay and it came from a bloke who's mail
address led me to a site that made panels. I asked about my switch
panel and I think he said around 15 quid for an anodised panel.
I would have to supply a drawing off all the switch holes and the markings. I just asked how much for an a4 size panel with writing on, I didn't give an exact panel to quote on.
I can dig out his details if you want.
He's in Doncaster.

Graffian: If you would please, only down the road from me. I've bought some of the laser stuff Pee suggested, it was only 17quid delivered, hopefully that will do the job. I'll report back once it turns up later this week
