Hardened Steel Lock Staple

Hi I was wondering if anyone can please point me in the right direction regarding sourcing a hardened steel staple. I was looking to find one where I can just bolt on instead of welding. most of the places I have looked only sell it as a complete unit consisting of both the hasp and staple. does anyone know anywhere which would sell just the staple?

Can you not possibly use one of these van locks, You don't need a hardened staple as it can't be seen at all when locked. I have used quite a few of this type of lock and found them to be very good.

Those locks are crap,well not actually the lock themselves but the keys,i had one on the back of my old van,friend had one to,low and behold his key could open mine and vise versa,plus they're a very cheap soft brass key bends and break easy so the barrel,thats MHO

Tend to agree with above doesn't help when lock is heavy and key captive. Abus make one that's a stainless discus lock in case

I'm theory all I want is the staple. I preferably would like a chunky hardened steel piece with a 12mm hole in to place the lock. I would like there to be holes in it to bolt to the cover. Can anyone recommend me a place which would provide these

Sorry about the illustration above, Quickly Nicked from the internet, The identical looking ones I have are made by Multi lock and are keycard coded,Quite pricy but worth it to me. (Made in Israel for some strange reason)

Your better off making your own it will be much stronger or if your not able ask someone who can

I cut off a 32mm ring spanner end and use that for the lock through part or heat up and bent a half inch extension bar
