Hard tail trike plans?

Would any kind members on here have any plans for a hard tail bike trike plans they dont mind sharing?
The only bit i know about my idea is i want to use a old bmw bike engine and it be a 2 seater hardtail(maybe soft tail)
Its going to be a long winded project as i have my daily ride (yammy fj1200) anyway but have no ideas hence the request for plans to give me some idea`s

I've been toying with triking an old Virago ... for ages. I've found the odd bit on the net about the subject and stuffed the pages into my favourites ready for the day I get of my fat a*&$e and start to do something. Try these there might be something useful for you.

Haven't read them all but there seems to be some comprehensive styuff by guys who seem to know what they are talking about. Don't know if they'll work as links.

what beemer is it, theres 3 ways to approach it first off if you have a complete bike with v5 make a bolt on as you get to keep the reg number and it just needs to be looked at by dvla(the operative word being bolt on)
on an old boxer this is a good idea as the whole rear of the bike bolts off from memory

option 2 is a scratch built frame but this will need an msva (no biggie apparantly)

option 3 is available only to disabled people

Plans are a complete waste of time, viualise what you want, draw it then build it, buy 100% biker as theres a trike bit in there which is wrote in a simple no noncense way

the real questions are what forks are you going to use, what diff and tyre combination (i have written a piece of software to simplify this gives either a diff ratio or tyre size etc)

then you need to think about your axle ,a lot of people use a reliant axle,
fer my trike i used a carlton diff, mercedes wheels and ford granada uprights cv jointt and brakes,

then you need to think about the look of the frame and what it will do

option 3 is to build the trike, present it to the dvla as a disabled vehicle and it doesnt need an msva , so inneffect if you use the beemer as a donor and modify the frame,(which will be a good idea) then you should be able to keep the reg and dvla will simply ammend the logbook after seeing it ( this may have changed recently but wont be far off)

i suggest sending an email to nabd and asking thier advice as they will be up on the current regs

now anyone else reading this post who isnt disabled and thinks hmm me nans disabled i can build me a trike, dont do it as its a hard won exemption for the benefit of disabled people

this is still the case my dads went through this way only 6 months or so ago, as long as there has been a specific design in the build for the disabled person then it goes on logbook as a disabled tax class

My friend has a quad as he is short of one leg and they have a car on the disability scheme so he can't use his quad as the disabled vehicle even though he cannot drive the car. If your Nan is not with you the disabled concession does not apply.

Have you looked on the Britchopper website. It's run by a chap called Chris Ireland. He used to run Desperate Dan's, probably the best trike builder of his time. Lot's of really helpful people on there who''l but you straight on the regs and plenty of help with plans and idea's.
