Hard of hearing house phones.

I need to source my Dad some new house phones. He has 3 currently.
All cordless BUT he can't hear with his hearing aids in and they are not loud enough if he takes them out.

I looked at the Amplicomms and Geemarc ones but both have a lot of bad reviews.

He needs loud Ring volume.
He needs them to work with hearing aids in and out.
Hands free on the base would be nice.
But he really needs the number list to be edited in one place for all 3 phones.

I can see myself ordering a set from Amazon to test and return if not suitable. However it would be nice if anyone has some recommendations of real world use.

Price . Well I won't say it's no problem but not keen on paying the (ility) tax for something no better than other offerings.

Surely you can get landline phones with Bluetooth now?
Just connects to his hearing aid like a mobile would.

Or get a few cheap old mobiles and set them up on voip

I recall years ago you could get flashing beacons that connect to the phone for factories and the like with high ambient noise levels, anyone know if they still do them? Perhaps call BT disability assistance for ideas.

I bought a Byron set for my 94 year old Dad. There are 2 plug-in speakers with 5 tones and variable volume. One benefit is the speakers have pass through sockets. He was so impressed his friend ordered the same and fitted one speaker upstairs and the other downstairs.

Am I correct to say that there are two issues. One being not hearing the phone when it rings, and not hearing what the caller is saying?

Currently no. Just hearing the other person.

I had one for a while....seem to remember it worked quite well. I could never figure out why all the dial number buttons were huge though!

Been checked. He has hearing aids. But they make hearing the phone worse.

I have to turn on the loudspeaker in our phone for me to hear with a hearing aid. I think the speaker is in the wrong place for the aid to pick up, without the aid I can hear it ok. With my mobile I can hear it ok with or without.

Yep that's the same with dad it would seem.

My dad has a set of super dooper hearing aids from Specsavers & they came with a box of goodies, including a thing that plugs into the phone line & sends the ringing bell tone directly to the hearing aid & amplifies the callers voice on the phone, similar to the 'link' system.

For late father in law I got a traditional bell adapter that plugged into the phone socket. Don't know if it's the pitch or whatever but a real bell seemed to work better than an "electronic" sound
