Hi lads i was wondering if ye lads leave your separate wire feeders on the ground or hand them on an arm. I was thinking of making a trolley to wheel it around on or are they ok on the ground.
I don't really want to have it swinging out of an arm because the father will more than lightly hit it wit the JCb at some stage. Are they ok on the floor or would a trolley be more suitable
I'd hang it.
I find the wire feeds better with the torch running from above. And whereas once in a while I used to wreck a torch when something heavy fell off the bench onto it, I'm still on the same one that was on the feeder when I hung it well over a decade ago!
When needed I drop it down onto one of the aforementioned trolley skates for dragging around big jobs.
I prefer to leave my separate feeder sat on top of the power unit, out of the way and not cluttering up the shop TBF if i was running MIG a lot I'd probably want it hung.
