Hands free kits

Anyone use one of those bluetooth hands free jobbies in their car/vans? Are they any good? Whenever i speak to someone who is on one, the quality seems pretty poor.

I would have prefered a plumbed-in version which i think are the best bet, but may well be buying new vans soon. I often drive different vehicles, so would be handy to move about.

as above... manufacturers option fit will not cost much more than a half decent hardwired hands free & as its part of the vehicle its covered by the warranty

I have the sterio type and seams to work well had a sunvisor one and that was good as it was close when you used it

I have a parrot hands free in my van but have a built in in the car no problems with either.
As long as you are safe when driving it doesnt make much difference.
If you are going to have a retro fit make sure it is a decent one some of the cheaper ones are poo

I put a new headunit with bluetooth in the missus' car, only the microphone to run the wire for, and you get the benefit of the music being muted and the call put through the main speakers. works very well.

I've been thinking of getting the sun visor type. What happens on days when you need to keep putting the visor up and down? Is there a simple solution, or is it just a pain in the backside?

i live in cumbria so not realy a problem or reclip when the visor is down

very good ,had it moved to my new van the merc blue tooth affair was slightly out of my price range

It must be wonderful to live in Cumbria, with permanent sunshine so that the visor can stay down all the time. Here in wildest Peeblesshire they seem to switch the sun on and off a lot. I think I'll need to find some other hardware, but there is not much space to fit anything on a Panda dashboard.

I have a Parrot 3200 in the car after VW "forgot" to put the factory option in and it is without a doubt the best handsfree I have ever used.
I have had very good results with the Plantronics M3000 earpiece type handsfree, but the Jabba earpiece I had was gash, though it did have a useful feature of pairing to two phones simultaneousley.
I have yet to find a sunvisor or standalone plug-in type kit that works even vaguely. Best avoided IMHO.

I have a cheap stereo with built in bluetooth hands free and although it's a great system (mutes the radio and displays the caller info) the sound quality is so terrible I don't use it

Clip on bluetooth gadgets I've tried have been cr*p. I'm another Parrot fan. W/A
