Some difficult bits made the chippy admit defeat
Bottom curve actually kicks up on stair side as it takes the turn by approx 12 mm to nothing randomly
Would have loved to weld and bend on site but was s back and forwards job due to the natural oak flooring and ash of the stairs also had serious doubts about my insurance limit being enough.... Lol

Construction in process from fag packet style drawings
Couldn't even template the curve due to the difference in the handrail inner and outer and the rail doesn't run square to the newal on the lower three ( though I did get a template to get tread rise and handrail horizontal angle of dangle)

Yes it was up first been up a couple of years actually but the chippy gave up and I think the clients struggled to find someone to take the job on - due to the camber of the handrail and it's associated complexity
Was challenging and if I didn't give a price up front but charged by the hour instead it would have been more economical to remake that section with a more experienced joiner I suspect

Going off for spray. Lady of house and myself like it natural but her hubby is 100 percent positive on painting.
It's the Forth highest rainfall area in the UK so I guess he has a point as the air humidity could rust it and dipping in hot bee wax will only cost the same or more

The back and forwards has took the most of the time up
The clients let out a lot of houses throughout Lancashire so time has been limited access wise
Today it's finally done as after the first fit complete I took it off for painting and have just finished the re delivery and fit. Probably 80- 100 shop hours
I never really look once o issue a price rather than an hourly rate. It's practically impossible for me toake a loss and you chalk the poorer prices up to experience and don't grumble to clients

Im the opposite of you Kent, I obssesivley keep a note of my times on every job, I find it helps when pricing future work
