I'm not sure what sort of information you are looking for. Normally the radius of the handrail as well as the rate of rise would be provided by the draughtsman (You in this case?)
Rolled using a ring roller or section roller with an additional spiral roller to roll the handrail in two planes.
Quite an art to do correctly.
This sort of equipment is quite costly, and not really efficient to buy unless you have lots of work for it. Can you not subcontract this bit to a fabricator who has the equipment? I presume you do this as a commerical venture...not even worth doing yourself if you do not have the gear and experience.
Not sure about France, but there are companies who specialise in rolling section. We use them for rolling big beams and heavy section that are too big for our machine. Generally very accurate.
As an idea, i bought an Ercolina ring roller and mandrel bender, both second hand, but never used (bankrupt fabricator) for £10,000. 75mm CHS maximum capacity.
Only you can decide if it is worth the investment to buy the machines rather than sub the job out.
As for preformed bends it isnt going to work on a spiral staircase.
Welder paul the chalet we are building is over the 5million mark so 10000 isnt to much in the grand scheme of things. but i may be contacting you if you fancy some work next year in france. I am just trying to get all the tools in the workshop sorted.so next on the list is a ring roller and a good tube bender
Angle ring company do all my bending just give them the required measurements and hey presto , cheaper to have them bent and shipped over than buy machinery ! I would have thought !
exactly. Personally I find barnshaws far far cheaper every time, but whoever you use will be better than doing it yourself.
for the sake of a handful of parts its not worth it. You'll waste a lot of material learning etc too. Just get it done right and save yourself thousands plus a lot of headaches. Just because its a big budget doesn't justify wasting money.
I dont class it as wasting money. i class it as another thing i could do. I have been asked this morning to make a 4th spiral staircase so i think buying one would be a better option.
The problem is where i live in france there arent to many companys with the kind of equipment i need.
