I was going to do a proper review of my Smartmig 162 with photos etc, but I got pitched from hobby welder to out in the field , on your back, upside down, gas, fluxcore, bit of stainless, back to fluxcore nd so on.
The thing rocks, I never intended it to get into the rough and tumble of site work, but its banging out cracking welds.
Today was a hard day,it was like mini shipyard welding, the trusty smartmig breezed it.
only thing is , I have no experience of other sets in this price bracket, but, from what I have experienced with the GYS, I aint changing, must discipline meself to do a proper review when I get time, but the GYS has put me back in the welding for reward bracket.
I would like to do a comparison with other MIG s in this price bracket-but tbh-I am so chuffed with my GYS kit, I am not sure its relevant for me, but there are potential purchasers out there-I'm sold on my GYS,but there must be blokes with Clarkes and R Tech who can who can argue the toss for their machines.
