Gutsy little disc cutter.?

I’m forever watching American Custom Car builders and they all have these small electric disc cutters which cut sheet and bar really easily. I have never found such a tool/blades. Can anyone point me to such a tool , other than the usual B&Q use once and throw away type.?

Please look at the speed at which a skil saw rotates and the speed at which a grinder with the same size blade rotates.

75mm/3inch cut off saws.

Used to do alot of them in air powered.
The 12v electric guys are making them now.

I got a cheapie lidl one for cutting one handed in the air (support chains) when up top of ladders.

Please look at the speed at which a skil saw rotates and the speed at which a grinder with the same size blade rotates.

Look at the difference in rotational speed of a 125mm grinder and a 230mm grinder. Running thin discs slow kills them so not much use running them at the wrong speed. Grinders cut by friction not taking chunks out of the material like saws.

I use a Bosch GWS 12V 76mm

Thats exactly what my mates boy uses for his work. He fits that hygiene wall covering in hospitals and prisons and things. They cut the plastic sheets really well. Ever so accurate.

I've been looking at the little Bosch one for a while - I bought the 115mm normal angle grinder because it was much cheaper.

I think the price is to make them unattractive to thieves. They're nice and small and can be carried very discretely but make short work of most chains/locks/schackles..

I've got the urge to lighten my wallet again after seeing this.

I've got one of the Lidl ones. Not as comfortable in the hand as the Bosch unit though.

Thanks for reinforcing the point I was trying to make. Grinders do not, however, cut by friction. Think of each grain of abrasive as a tiny saw tooth.

I do not have much time to write more; I am off to try my home-made adaptor to fit 14" Stihlsaw blades into my Dremel.

I'm still going with friction, if the discs were smooth they'd be useless.

Love it.
Small light and ready to go always.
No heavy cutting but great for smaller stuff.
Honestly, I do more grinding than cutting with it.
