Gunk vs Gunk Ultra?

Hi all,

I need a tin of Gunk. I haven't bought any for a while and I see there are now options!

I see Gunk engine degreaser in the familiar Orange tin for around £25 for 5 litres or there is Gunk Ultra for around £20 for 2 x 5 litres.

What's that all about Can anyone share experiences, recommendations?

I have no experience with gunk ultra...gunk always worked fine for me. I find with these types of things they probably came up with a more eco friendly version and called it ukrea to mask the fact it doesn't work as well but that is purely speculation on my part...normal gunk works just fine, I'd go with that...having twice as much is great but if it's half as effective is pointless

Gunk Ultra is water soluble. From my experience, a water soluble version of anything is rubbish.
Stick with Gunk (I prefer Jizer, other soft drinks are available )

I quite like the Halfrauds XCP cleaner & degreaser. It seems to work well & doesn`t smell too bad either. Not tried the gunk ultra myself though.

I use the screwfix degreaser. No nonsense concentrated stuff. Including diluted in my parts washer and it works great.

u know the saying "It's all Greek to me"
this I bought locally as I'd finally used up my old stock of Screwfix degreaser....which was around £8-10, years ago.....
Man this stuff is good €25 for 10 liters....

My wife said she'd had enough of her st/st roasting tin and gave it to me for a drip tray....u know how bad they get.....
thought I'd try this out.....wetted the tray, then laid kitch tissue on the wet parts, then wetted it again....
Placed in a plastic bag to keep it wet.....it's over 36º here right now.....
so an overnight soak....next morning a great suprise a cold rinse and it's like new, no rubbing.....
writing too small to read so no idea whats in it.....
the only thing better than this is a boiling caustic bath.....seeing as were not allowed Tricoethylene anymore....
