Gun bluing

Hello all, I need to darken some ground down welds to blend in better with surrounding forged bars & I want to use some gun bluing. Can anyone recommend any particular brands?
I used to have a workshop near a gun shop & the stuff I got from them in the past was this stuff, but now I'd be buying online so worth checking there's nothing better out there...?

Phillips is pretty good, but birchwood do small portions of it as well, I've had success with both

I’ve used birchwood in the past, does a reasonable job.

Incidentally, I think you are supposed to dilute it with water. I never bother: just use it neat.

I'm sure you know, but make sure the part is scrupulously clean before you blue it. Any residual grease or oil will block the product and make the finish look awful.

I didn’t clean the first barrel I did well enough, it showed. I’m pretty sure what I could see was finger prints. I was more careful the next time and it was fine
