After much reading on here about the best brands for a Hobby Welder, I think I have narrowed it down to a Clarke Welder.
I had pretty much decided on a Clarke 151TE until I phoned a shop ( The Welding Centre -another recommendation on here!) Based on what I would be using it for which is welding 3mil steel tubing for shelving and some welding on a VW Camper.. The shop recommended a Clarke 160EN as this can be used as gasless for the Camper work outside, and with Gas inside(ventilated) if I buy the £25 conversion kit.
What I forgot to ask the shop was does the gasless rod use an automatic feed? If not and the £25 kit is actually the automatic feed.. is this likely to be an inferior "bolt-on extra conversion" and not as good as the one you will get with the 151TE?
I could just phone the shop back and ask.. but I thought it would be worth getting peoples opinions about my choice on here at the same time as asking about the conversion kit!
