Glasplies used to do really good technical sheets (they're pointed at boats, but very useful). Well worth giving them a bell until the new website is up and running properly.
Pretty rare to use epoxies and GRP together -- much more common to use polyester resins with GRP, epoxies with top end carbon and kevlar.

I bought one of these thats been put on its side at auction, I know the guys at the salvage yard and they made sure it went my way very cheep, without little interest,
the panels are fiberglass and have superficial damage, which I'm guessing is simple (ish) however the tank maybe cracked, I'm not sure if its possible to repair such an item if it is.....
My plan is to repair then shift on, in good workable condition shes worth around 50K....

West System is a common epoxy used on boats, most often with ply, filler stuff etc. As fingers says, polyester resin and gelcoats are the thing with glass Epoxies are a bit thick to get into the fibres - polyester/styrene, nice and thin - flows well.

Assuming that there's some way into the inside of the tank, repair should be easy enough and very permanent. Superficial damage to the outer panels is best done by V-ing any cracks (say, with a carbide cutter in a die grinder, or an angle grinder if they're big ones) and filling in with layers of glass fibre tissue and resin (the common mistake is to use gel coat, but this just makes a sticky mess as it hardens anaerobically). Finally a bit of body filler and paint. This looks pretty good, although it's not exactly a Lotus Elan!
I'm 95% certain they'll have used polyester resin rather than epoxy -- generally you can tell by the smell as soon as you touch a tool to it. I'm guessing that what's contained in the tank is water based, but tell the suppliers and they'll be able to advise on the right resin.

thanks for the replies chaps, I might have a wonder around some of local boat builders, maybe someone might be willing to give a bit of time to show how,the sight of cash, or you couldn't just/weld make me, often has a positive affect..... everything in that tank would be water based although some of the chemicals use strange wetting agents which affect plastics and especially rubber...
As said I know f'all about glass and like, so expect plenty of questions!

nice looking bit of kit
that size tank could probably hold about 10k worth of spray so better make sure it's all right and that any repair won't affect the spray might be worth your while checking with some of the spray manufacturers can't think of who else you could ask
has she got all Electronics for spraying some systems are more popular and more expensive than others the right system adds a lot to the value

running all RDS rate controllers, and airtex with the magic box that varys the air to liquid, Its a 2006 build so pretty modern......
TBH iv got a hunch the tanks OK, but they quoted the insurance a new tank....
It was luck I got hold of it, insured with direct line, who knew naff all on the value, so the loss adjusters valued it really low, I was best man at the yard owners daughters wedding so he tipped me the wink so to speek

If it's this one it looks top of the range I'm doing some work for a spraying contractor on Thursday I pick his brains for you if there's anything you want to know (gps compatible plot planner speed controller the more software the more its worth)

Yep. Styrene monomer, IIRC. But I don't think it has quite the structural qualities of plain old resin.
