grinding down welds

Iv'e recently tried my hand at mig welding so not surprising there's lots of grinding afterwards. I bought a decent pair of goggles and dust mask, the problem is, as soon as I put the mask on the goggles mist up, what's the secret of avoiding this, appreciate any help from the experienced thanks.

You might be better using a grinding mask. Something like this perhaps?

Without seeing if the two are compatible, I'd put the goggles on after the mssk.

Shaving foam on the goggle lenses, buff off til clear...

Failing that, either get a face shield or a welding mask with grind mode if you feel confident that you won't forget to turn it back to weld mode afterwards

what's the secret of avoiding this,

I had the same issue....made even worse as I wear glasses too!

In the end I went for an air fed mask...solved the problem. Not a cheap solution but worked.

3M 7500 series half masks.Very good seal on the face and has an exhaust that vents downwards.
My glasses never mist up when I use that one. I don't use it a lot nowadays because I have an air fed welding mask since a number of years.
