Greenhouse heating

Given the current fuel prices, what would be the cheapest way to keep a 10'x10' greenhouse frost free?
I've seen 2.5kw paraffin heaters but they seem to get through over a gallon a day so that would soon prove to be very expensive.
I know there's not going to be a "cheap" option but just wondered what anyone else uses?

Not sure about Berks but in deepest Wiltshire we don't get sunshine at night.

If its just "frost" free and not actually heating you want then I've heard you can stick a candle under a terracotta plant pot, it'll last all night and should get warm enough to keep frost away?

It was 10x6 until this winter when it blew apart in a a storm..... undecided if I'm replacing

Kept our old 12 x10 Ft one frost free another layer of bubble wrap on the plants seemed to keep really tender plants ok.
Have wrapped some really soft plants in it individually with no heat in summer house

I'm not a gardener but my missus is, she tried it over winter and it kept whatever plants were in there ok - the addition of the pot makes a big difference apparently as it traps the heat from the candle and radiates it off slowly, it's not a lot of heat but it's constant. Ours is 6 x 6 so not as big as yours though...

As said some insulation also helps, she has used bubble wrap and also a sheep's fleece before around the base of plants (don't ask )

use a rocket stove and put it to water if you have the space

Here we go again.
Gaz, it's just a 10 foot by 10 foot greenhouse which I'd like to find as nice, simple, cost-effective way to keep above freezing, if that's at all possible.
I really can't be bothered to build anything so off-the-shelf suggestions only please. Ta.

How about we have a forum get together at yours, you could then collect the hot air that gets spouted and use that to keep your cannabis tomatoes warm

the only true way is with cost something you dont want to do

otherwise its the cheap way and build a second shelter enclosing the other greenhouse this creates an air barrier to the outside therefore temps inside are going to be much higher

using water on a black screen shown in the chinese version keeps the temps well above freezing but a water heater or boiler can be used to heat the water

if it can be used in canada dont you think us in the uk or scotland can use it
