grease gun couplings

I am tired of replacing the worn grease gun nozzles all the time they seem not to last that long when they are the yank off ones!

Has any one used the lever types like below? Are they much good. Worth a try! they aint cheap.

never used that type, let alone seen them before.........do u know that the older type coupling needs to be rolled off sideway's......I only buy recognised makes........Tecalamit etc etc.......
but even the cheapies seem to work well........
never just yank them off, roll em of sideways.........

I've got a couple of those very ones and I really like them, lovely quality but as you say not cheap.

I've also have a couple of those, if you purchase from the correct supplier you get a rebuild kit as well (never had to use it ) if the grease nipple had a badly damage surface you may need to replace the nipples as well. But a well made product that works very well...

I have one named the G coupler.

It’s brilliant and I use nothing else apart from a very tiny number of nipples which are in a recess where a standard coupler is needed as they’re a little thinner and shorter. I have a bent pipe as an adapter for such occasions.

I have fitted one repair kit (not expensive) in about three years and I use it a lot.

Standard couplers are just rubbish, no matter how they get treated they soon start leaking if you use them much.

one can not always roll it off sideways though when the gap/recess is so small

As bill Edwards says, some nipples are in a recess and can't be reached with the above ends. Excavator pins are a prime example, especially Techuchi machines

Keep your eyes open for a second hand Wanner gun, I've got one, must be close on 50 years old & still going. I think they were/are Swiss, but not sure

Sounds like the G coupler is also worth a look given how many have them, I only went for the one I have because I thought it looked better built.

I recently switched to the screw on cartridge type as I've started to find with modern grease I was getting a lot messing around even though my gun is a really nice Snap On unit which has two settings for flow and pressure.

I bought from these guys, this gun is the same unit supplied to other manufactures and often sold for £40-50, I think I paid just over £20, not shown but it also comes with adapter to you to use both types of screw cartridges and a tube to allow you to use normal cartridges and bulk fill.

They do a pistol grip too that takes the screw on type too but I can't see it in the catalogue

These are ok, my lads lose,run over and break these things so I dont go too expensive. Those that get looked after have been going for years with no issues or replacement ends/hoses. I bought a dozen spare ends and they are all still in the draw. Cordless are the best.
