Gratuitous crane falling over footage

as title really, the cloggies have had a bit of a faux pas during the building of a bridge. Anyone got a plasma cutter handy?

oops.... would not like to be the lift master for that job.... looks like the barge was not correctly ballasted?

Hard to see on this wee screen but did the panel catch the wind and overbalance or was that the actual lift they were trying to do?

as you say it's hard to say without seeing what comes first, could possibly be a gust that catches the load but once it goes there's not much stopping it!!

Aye it does look like a gust caught it but one thing's for sure - my little starfish was nipping very tight as it went past the point of no return!

Looking again it looks likes he crane which toppled first has swung too early and the crane nearest isn't in the right position - I reckon they should have slewed around as a pair.....

Looks to me like they were standing that piece up, it went over-balance and overwhelmed the slew on the far crane.

It almost seemed like something had failed on the first crane. It was rotating steady then just gave way to the weight and swung freely as if something had broke, then lost control. The barge tilting from the weight added the the problem.

The bridge piece also knocked into the first crane at the beginning of the maneuver, possibly causing shock damage somewhere?

It snaps about 1/3 of the way up.

Yeah it does look like the bottom corner caught the ram. Hard to tell from the angle.

daughter was working in holland last week on building wind turbines and the job was stopped because of high winds. a few turbine blades were damaged on site and the crane on its pads shifted a bit

That 2nd POV has to be one of the worst camera operators in the world!

looks to me like there was to much weight shift for the width of the vessel, look at the water line its already tilting before you see anything happen

changed my mind look at the original video look between the 2 jibs but below the road section to the left of the rearmost crane looks like hydraulics could have blown out
