Granite worktop - Polished or glazed?

Mum got a sample of granite worktop to use as a pizza stone, the top side is a lot shinier than we were expecting though. If it's just polished then no problem, we can just use it as is but she's worried it's got some kind of glaze/coating that could break down in the oven and make toxic pizza, anyone know what it is?



If there is something on it, what would it take to get it off? Wire wheel in an angle grinder?

If there IS a coating [can't think offhand how you'd tell for sure ] I'd start with the least aggressive of products and work my way up until you establish what level of abrasion is needed.

Sure someone with the definitive answer or previous similar experience will be along to say for sure though.

It’s Diamond polished granite shiney side up .

Use it as is without worry .

That bit of stone will weigh a bit too
