Granite epoxy casting

Just came across various articles on people using various epoxy stone mixes instead of sand casting cast iron. Apparently used quite a lot in industry. Most of the people though were using it to fill large voids in machine bases etc to add mass and act as a damper.

I am more interested in it's application for actually casting though. Seems to have many possibilities - has anyone here tried it?

I cast a corner section for a worktop and a sink type of draining board out of it.
Need some sort of vacuum chamber to get all the air out of it.
It's also a pain to pour without getting air back in again so might be best to degass once it's poured.
My effort also seemed to attract a lot of dust into the surface of the mix.
I think some of this might have been due to mixing it in a plastic bucket with a drill and maybe building up some sort of static charge?

It's one of those topics where everyone can back up their opinion with published data, so it's been hammered to death on various forums because there are a LOT of various opinions. What it boils down to is does it get you to what you're trying to achieve? If it does, then happy days - if it doesn't then it's quite an expensive way to find that out.

I tried mixing epoxy in a vacuum, huge difference when you degass it.
I got less pinholes in laminates with vacuum mixed epoxy but still got some.
