I can't see that happening. It hasn't happened anywhere else in the world, and would force the prices of second hand cars up enormously. Everyone (apart from the relatively small proportion that buy new) would be out of pocket for no good reason, and be inclined to vote for the other lot.
If it does happen I can see an underground Renault movement forming very quickly. Though outrunning the police on 27hp might take some doing.

Another fantastic idea by Edinburgh Council. If they ban my truck I'm inclined to drive it up to the entrance to the City Chambers and torch the thing.
They tried to introduce a congestion charge a couple of years ago, it got thrown out (but it cost millions to find out nobody wanted it). Their recycling facilities are rubbish (no pun intended), and they keep knocking down old offices and building new ones. And I ain't even started on the Scottish bleedin Parliament yet!!! four hundred million quid!! Bah wotsit!

And its bloody ugly, at lkeast the welsh assembly building is interesting and uses local materials, the scottish one looks like it was designed by an 8 year old with some crayons.

Might as well have been.
Chamber roof started falling in due to crappy design, most of the windows had to be reordered cos they didnae fit.
And the doors had to be enlarged cos jack mcconnell couldn't get his ego into the building.
Wouldn't surprise me what edinburgh council are doing. This is the same council that spent millions on putting in a one way system everyone said was stupid, wouldn't work and cause problems. Couple months later they spent millions removing a one way system because it was stupid, didn't work and caused problems.
The lunatics are indeed running the asylum.

Even here I think they had some problems with roof that leaked, a pity because it is an interesting building and sits very comfortably in it's location.
