I'vegot a treadmill motor working voltage at 180v DC,I have been meaning to replace the naff motor on the mini lathe as they grunt and lack that oomphhh! plus they get hot when under load.
Anyway just disconnected the power supply from lathe and hooked the output(240v DC) to the treadmill motor.....cor thats some belting torque its got and seems to very, very quiet. lovely
Just a matter of taking the voltage down to an acceptable level for the motor and power supply protection overload, and making a sturdy bracket for the motor.
