Hi, first post on here.
I got a VAT free voucher for next week and I'm tempted to buy a Clarke MIG welder.
I am doing a rolling resto on a Peugeot 604 though it isn't that bad. I have access to a pro welding guy who doesn't charge much but it's a bit of a drive and a day off work to see him, so I was wondering whether I should buy something.
I could just ask him to do safety critical stuff and I could do panels for example.
The car has rust in a couple of doors, sill covers and front wing.
I was even thinking I could buy a MIG and use it will brazing wire as it seems to me melting one thing has to be easier then melting three things all at the same time. For a door or wing brazing would be perfectly adequate.
So worth bothering?
Clarke 90 pro for £180 or spend another £50 on a 135TE?
If I don't use this VAT free voucher am I likely to get another?
Thanks for any advice.
