Google Cloud Print

After years of the kids dragging the printers out of my office to connect to their desktop I bought a network printer which solved that issue but then I struggled to print from my Android and IOS devices.
I finally have it all sorted by using a permanently on Raspberry Pi as a print server and then registering my printers on Google Cloud Print.
The Pi has been up and running for over a month now with no issues and it's brilliant to be able to print directly from my Android phone.

Have you checked the printer manufacturers website to see if they have an app. I have a canon device plugged into my router (via a TP link but only cause they are in different rooms) and the canon print app on my phone and tablet. It works great on android devices.

The wife's and all the kids phones and our iPads have the canon app, works really well

We use a network printer in the office, but it only works when you are on our network (not got round to setting up a VPN or whatever other solutions we have)... Anyway the boss keeps forgetting to change his default printer when he is working from home and for some reason it keeps the print queue, then when he connects to the network the printer spring to life and prints hundreds of pages... Something that never fails to amuse me.

We too use network printers, just had a few problems with ours when the IT dept. allocated another PC the same IP address as our printer

We do have neat option called "pull print" where you can go to any printer on any of the sites and wave your ID card over it and it will "pull" the document etc. to that printer for you (it also logs the cost of printing against your department)

Canon also have a similar system of "follow me" printing called Uniflow
