Gluing steel to plastic

Yesterday about lunchtime i suddenly felt a deep routed desire to take our microwave apart. Mainly because i had just heated up some leftovers. Particularly tasty leftovers. So tasty infact the microwave decided to keep them by breaking the mechanism for the door release.

After swearing and abusing a knife i retrieved my lunch.

Today i am fixing said door handle mechanism.

I am going to brace the broken plastic bit with a piece of steel

So what would folk recommend glue wise that i can get on a highstreet to stick ABS plastic to mild steel.

I would try JB Weld if I was doing it. I have reinforced broken plastic with it in the past, I have no idea what flavour of plastic, but hard similar to ABS.
