tec 7 I would probably look at putting in dowels , maybe brass first , thread the dowels and glue them in , depending on the thickness you have to play with , or make up a mounting plate say 4 inches square and put a threaded stud into the middle , mount the stud plates to the frame , then glue the plates to the table top ,, again I like tec7 any other two pack glue would do , araldite etc , lots of options a pic may help .Need to join a fossilized wood table top (think 1000s of years old, think very rare ) to mild steel under structure.
The wood is highly polished.
What does the panel think.
Yes I would say the same.tec 7 I would probably look at putting in dowels , maybe brass first , thread the dowels and glue them in , depending on the thickness you have to play with , or make up a mounting plate say 4 inches square and put a threaded stud into the middle , mount the stud plates to the frame , then glue the plates to the table top ,, again I like tec7 any other two pack glue would do , araldite etc , lots of options a pic may help .
Does it really need gluing?
Most glass tops I've seen just sit on the frame with a few rubber/silicone dots to provide a bit of friction.
The original fixing was some sort of sealant stuff which in all fairness took some getting off with multi tool. So something along those lines.
Will do.P.s. would love to see a picture of it assembled.
I like that. Anything I have stuck down with CT 1 has stayed putOk, had to look up what these were all about. So, the submerged wood absorbs minerals and also makes them incredibly heavy.
Price wise I really don't know.
