Well after owning a Portamig for over 2 year I eventually got it out its box today and set it up to try it out.I laid a few welds on bits of scrap I had laid around.Definetely need to practice a lot,I was practicing on 1.2 2.0 and 3mm sheeting.I was eventually starting to see an improvement which got me thinking.I have read all the set up info and found the power calculator very helpful but do you need to turn up the gas for thicker material or do you usually leave it set at a certain level ? Thanks for any replies.
