Getting compressed air outside.

I tend to use the plasma cutter outside (weather permitting) and have to trail an air hose through the door.
I'd rather not have the door open if I can help it, next doors inquisitive cat and the occasional rat/mouse I would rather keep out.

What is the easiest/neatest way of feeding air through the single skin block wall?

All my hoses/tools use this type of quick fitting.

That's as good as anything. Pop a plastic bag over it when not in use to stop the ingress of dust and creepy-crawlies. I've standardised on the PCL XF for all my tools. Also known as the Euro fitting.

Have you considered punching a hole through the wall and sticking a bit of plumbing waste pipe through?

Do it properly with some screw on end caps and you've got a duct then that you can run whatever though when you need to.

I mean if you're using air outside every day put in a dedicated port, but if it's a weekend thing in the summer, then a multifunction duct may (or may not!) do you better?

Same here for argon, annoys me every time I get the tig out, particually as the nylon hose is of questionable durability.

Im tempted to stick a single socket sized, outdoor electrical box next to the existing one, remove the socket and just have a rectus21/ air fitting inside, plumbed with 5mm copper to the bottle.
I'll never be piping compressed air out as its far too noisey.

I have a retractable hose reel mounted on the side of my woodwork shed fed by 15 mm copper plumbing pipe and adaptors to precisely the fittings you illustrate - I've put a local 1/4 turn ball valve adjacent.

On the side of my welding shop I have an airline 'claw fitting' as used with road compressors, again with a local tap, that allows me to feed my air distribution system from the road compressor that is parked there when I need large air volumes elsewhere on the network.

(All my buildings have a common air system using 25 mm MDPE water pipe)

and then fit a pcl fitting on end the inside would need a valve to open for the outside just like the water would do and therefore can be shut off or opened when working outside

i already have it installed comes so in handy for doing that type of work

this becomes a extension hose point and then fit a lock cover over it would be enough

I do sometimes wonder about running a hose under the house to the front and doing similar, rather than dragging the extending hose all the way out . . . but apathy and failing memory means I only remember when I need to blow a tyre up . . .

I only buy the 1/2" bsp version of the pcl couplings, they screw straight into the 1/2" bsp backplate elbows without the need for any reducing bushes and anchor them down properly. Its all to easy to tug a fitting straight onto copper and make it loose/leak.
You can get them to copper,hep or mdpe.

I used 15mm copper pipe with a soldered flange fitting through to the outside wall and a 45 degree bend connecting a non rusting standard PCL fitting. The bend lessens the protrusion and keeps my knuckles far enough from the wall for comfort.
