Gerson Disposable Masks

Does anyone know anything about the Gerson Disposable masks that are supposed to be ok for 2k paint spraying for around 36 hours

I've got a 7 replica project on the go and while I'm a million miles away from painting, I'm trying to plan ahead and begin as I mean to go along.
Now, I've recently found out on here that Lechler 2k Epoxy primer does not contain isocyanates which cheered me up immensely. Now I'm thinking if I could spray epoxy and basecoat with a decent replacement filter mask, could I spray 2k clear with one of these disposable jobbies provided I cover up properly with eye protection too.
If anyone knows any more I'd really appreciate opinions.

Think you will find thats just an organic vapour filter
for 2k its airfed only as far as the law is concerned
although saying that its better than nothing

I used one for 2k high build primer but never felt confident and every time I painted I would double check seal to face and make sure I couldn't smell anything and then after painting would check my nose for any traces of paint, I became so paranoid about it that I was rushing the job. I now have bought an airfed as I believe it's the only way to go, maybe I was over reacting but to me my health was worth the money spent, only issue is you need a 3hp compressor for the mask and another for spraying along with coalescing filter for breathing air, if you are not prepared to do it right just use upol smart clear 1k or jawel iso free clear.

Thanks guys, I must admit I'm not overly confident about the whole thing. I've used 1K clear before and got results I was happy with, so I think I'l stick to this method. For the amount of painting I do I just can't justify the expense of airfed equipment. Never used the uni-binder option, might give that a go, got plenty of time to decide. Got to rebuild the chassis yet!!

I use them.Have used it in my small garage to epoxy prime,2k high build and some of the base and 2k clear on my beetle.I did the outside of it in a booth,again using a gerson mask but with the extraction on.
If you don't feel confident in using them though its probably best to use something else.

Well they describe it as a 'full face mask', but the illustration is of one that only covers nose and mouth, so what else in their description is erroneous?

i must be a one off smoked sprayed 2k with cheap masks sandblast with kiln dried sand work in sh itty attics and im in perfect health and getting to be an old fart

Keithski, this is what I was hoping for. Someone who'd actually used them with good results. How did you go about covering the rest of your face?

They also state that the mask needs no use of an air supply, yet they contradict themselves by putting in a disclaimer stating the law regarding the need for an air fed supply.

I don't cover my face up,long sleeve t shirt and jeans.If I was painting the whole of the outside of the car I might be a bit more wary,but I was ok when painting the interior.I am not recommending other people to use them just that I have and suffered no after effects.
Years ago when I used to paint scooters in celly I didn't even use any mask, the only things I suffered from was a light head and coloured boogers!

I used one to spray the 2k etch primer on my sons MGB GT. I wore a paper suit, wrap around safety specs (goggles would have been preferable), vinyl gloves and the Gerson mask.
I made a temporary booth by suspending dust sheet polythene from the workshop ceiling and used my woodworking dust collector with the bags removed as extraction.
Not ideal but it did the job, I would recommend getting some spare pre-filters as they clog up pretty quick.
