The welding I do is ranch work, primarily pipe fencing (oil field pipe).
I am getting ready to start a large project on my ranch of 2 3/8 oil field pipe (posts and top rail) with no climb fencing.
My old miller portable is not running well and I need to replace it. I have a Lincoln stick welder and was thinking about getting a generator large enough to power the Lincoln.
Is that realistic or is there a basic welder with a generator that would be good for what I am needing?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I typically use 6011 rod but am open to suggestions.
I get a little confused with generator amp and watts as it relates to welding.
