Generator Coupling

Hi,
This is a bit of long shot, any advice on where to seek a replacement coupling for this Markon generator? Thanks for any information.

Can't help you with OEM, but... one could accurately fab a new coupling out of an old vehicle's prop-shaft & "doughnut coupling". Most are rated for; high torque, use over 6000rpm and spares are easy too...

They are a pretty common type of drive coupling. They may vary with the number of the driving "dogs".
RS components show a few.

Bearing boys have a few.

Think we normally get ours through wyko/erics ready machined,as they are often supplied without a bore or keyway machined ,and we don't have keyway broaches at work....brammer can arrange for machining if they supply (i think),check the bore and keyway sizes of both halfs,as they can be different

Yes, that very much looks like a standard Spidex style coupling.

Fenner couplings, should be easily sourced at a power tranmission type place. Sure lovejoy is a make of them too, we had a few very similar ones kicking about in the stores at work.

Most of our work stuff is through Eriks as well, it all tends to be taper lock, so easy to fit.

I had something similar go on a sunday at work ,spent ages boring to dimension 30 mm largest drill to 95mm dia reqd ,then had to use m12 grub screws into the shaft keyway ,far from ideal , :laughing:

...i wanted boss to say get it picked up and machined by erics ... :clapping:

.....he had other ideas
