Hello, I'm looking to buy another Mig after my Transmig died. It was used when i bought it 20 years ago. The usage in the mechanical workshop is sporadic but more so lately while making our owning shelves & some racks. Normally we light use it for light fab works as mentioned & exhausts, small brackets etc.
However, I want to specifically buy a Mig that is well suited for butt joining panel steel so I can repair my Volks Air Cooled vehicles.
I wondering if a Transformer welder or the new style of Inverter welders are better for this.
We already have a Viper 180 for Tig so I'm not against Inverter welders.
I know a restorer who swears by his old Migmag I think he calls it.
Any advice would be appreciated thanks
