gate ideas

i am needing some ideas of making a side house secure gate, situated at the corner of a house.

-either make it a single type sweeping out
or
-2 halves with 1 part swinging out and the other part able to open once a middle post is removed

on one side the ground can be dug fairly deep enough,
the other side is up against the house wall and the depth is about 1.5feet(hit the foundations)

how deep do the holes need to be dug in order for the gate to be secure?
whats the best way to fix to the house side?

whats the best way to protect the hinges?

width of opening
7 feet
height 5.5 - 6 feet


any help would be great

Normally I would use 2" x "2 box as the posts, the house side would not be concreted in, it would be screwed to the wall using angle plates top and bottom, the box section would be capped with an ornate finale.
For hinges I would use the pin and lug type at a weight to suit the gate, either the top pin would face down or they would be drilled and a pin hammered in.
