made and fitted a new garden gate on saturday, nothin fancy just a basic wooden one, anyway chuffed it only took a couple of hours ....decided to buy a closer to stop it flapping in the breeze..£2 odd for a galvanised springy thing from toolstation that,ll do!...spent most of today trying to fit/adjust/secure stupid peg,s/find stupid pegs after they ping out at high speed! ..to adjust spring tension you wind the spring up using the(supplied)tommy bar, but the holes to locate it are too shallow which means it slips out just as you reach required tension... then the pegs only fit loosely(if at all) ended up modifying it by drilling holes deeper, and putting threaded rod in them...took all afternoon in the wind and rain...well its working for now ,and i still have most of my fingers..but it was close at times, still it WAS cheap!....but very fustrating too!
