Hi.
I need to build some gates for my house fairly quickly (I'm sure the neighbours love the OSB currently on the drive!
Anyway our drive is outside our back garden so privacy is a concern.
Anyway I have some 80x40x3 box laying around.
I want to make these gates below:

The diagonal are some sort of bars I will weld in to support wooden inserts, ideally hardwood. I'd rather it was solid but if we have to clad it due to weight we have to clad it!
Anyway the two posts either side are concrete, pretty solid posts to be fair but will they cope with the weight?
Should I bolt steel to the side of them to strenghen?
Also will the wood expanding be an issue?
I was going to put the metal so that the 40mm is standing up i.e if the infil was 40mm they would all be flush.
I must get on with them this week so any advice would be great!
