Gasless MIG Welding In Gusty Windy...

I need to weld some stuff outside, shortly. It's been quite windy lately, with gusts of nearly 40 mph.

With flux core wire, are the gusts too strong to weld in? I'm planning to try and get some shelter from the wind.

no, self shield and stick welding are fine in virtually anything...youll get blown off your feet before the shielding effect is disturbed
