Gas wanted brighton / redhill

Can anyone tell me the best place to get mig welding gas (or possibly pub CO2) in the brighton (east Sussex) or Redhill (surrey) areas, or the nearest to either of these (I work at one of these and live at the other and drive to and from them).

I have previously used Air Products on 5 year advance rental, but it's up for rnl and they want £370 for next 5 yrs bottle rental. I very rarely use it (Last time I got a refill was over 2 years ago and that costs about fifty quid).
I've been with them 22 years, I can't bear to think the amount I have paid in that time.

If I have to travel a few miles then so be it but can anyone tell me where to go.

Also, if I use pub gas bottle then I believe I need an adaptor for my guages, can anyone show me the best place to sort that out.

no replies? come on please, there must be some people who just need hobby amounts of gas in the south east and therefore can not justify the huge rental costs, who have found a solution

You could try Adams. The first bottle with rental is about £115 and about £75 for a refill. The bottles are sent UPS I think.

i did have a look at adams website as i saw them mentioned on another thread. what i was unsure about was returning the bottle for refill. I assume that I have to pay to return the empty bottle each time, is that right? or does the courier take the empty bottle in return for the full one?
can anyone who uses adams gas please clarify this.

But even better if someone could show me something around brighton / redhill or in between (crawley area) or within a hours drive of brighton.

have you looked at the BOC volkszone offer £60 for a year for a full Y size bottle of argoshield £25 per refill and £35 for the next years rental
