Gas solenoid pipe connection question

I have just been setting up the gas and gauges on the mig but when i checked the gas pipe on the solenoid it was loose and i pulled it off with very little effort.

The pipe is approx 8mm i.d. And the solenoid has 8mm of 6mm brass pipe with 1 barb which comes from 8mm of 10mm thread.

The existing pipe was pushed crudely over the thread with a poorly fitting hose clip over the barb.

None of this looks right, can anyone tell me if this is right or how it should be please?

The SOV is threaded to screw into something or more likely have a tube nut that clamps a hose onto the barb at the bottom, probably similar to the top fitting. someone's crudely fitted a hose on it after braking or losing the nut.

Thanks, i did wonder if it should be a similar fitting to the one above, it’s a Binzel coil but i’ve not managed to find much info up to press!

To be honest if it goes together and doesn't leak I'd trim the hose back and put it back together and forget about it, it's low pressure.

Looks like that might be the way forward as I can’t find a fitting that would work and if i found one that compressed the hose onto the barb the existing hose would have to be replaced as it would be too big and the only other option is a new valve!
