Gas running out half way through.

My gas ran out half way through running a bead on some seemless tube. Can i reweld over the top as grinding it out may be quite difficult?

Depends what it's for,critical welds should be ground out and re welded as any holes etc will weaken the joint,what is it?!

Suspension wishbone (the full weld is about 9inches long and the bit where the gas ran out about 1/2 inch)

Hard to say without seeing it,are you confident that the 9 inch weld is sound?

Given the use I would want it ground back. Stressed components like this will can quckly fail at any weld weakness

I agree with mike,taking a little extra time to get it right Now will save a headache in the future.
