Gas run on

Hoping someone can help me out got welder out today it's a clarke 100 and the gas keeps running after releasing the trigger, if I shut the gas off and back on again there's no leak until I press and release the trigger.
Hope someone can advise me.

IIRC these welders have the gas valve in the trigger, rather than an electrical one.

If this is the case it's probably just the plunger sticking, dismantle the torch, clean any muck out and lubricate the plunger with a bit of WD40 or such like.

Haha thanks a lot and are they simple enough to strip? Just undo the screws and clean or are things goner ping everywhere lol?

There's a spring to return the trigger, but noting too complicated. Just go carefully.

Sorted the brass button was a bit sticky, bit of oil and manoeuvring and it's perfect now, then the reg fell to bits and leaked so I stripped that down and mended that,
All good now!
