gas pressure convertor

hi i am new to the site and wondered if anyone can help,i have a small regulator/pressure gauge which came with the gas canistor with my 130 mig welder,
i am wanting to use a larger bottle so need a conversion piece,can anyone advise if this is possible

You need a proper regulator for use with big bottles and an adaptor pipe to plug the thin pipe into. But if you going to use your welder more than occasionally then it is worth the expense.

You need something like this...


The small plastic pipe on the back of your machine pushes into the chrome reducer on the black hose & the industrial regulator steps the pressure down from a large cylinder. The regulator in the picture is for CO2 cylinders, or can be supplied with a female fitting for argonmix cylinders.

We all talk about 8-12 litres per minute for most stuff we weld here. Why do those gauges go up to 60 litres per minute? Makes it hard to judge the flow rate, but all the regs I've seen do the same.
