Can someone verify to me the specific mixtures for stainless steel mig wire .o35 Miller 251 I'm welding handrail .... I can polish the weld ... but it looks like **** I'm sure my
75% argon ,22.5 %co2 ,2.5 helium
That's too much c02
I use argon with 2% to 2.5% co2 on mig and it polishes up fine.
I've never tried tri mix with helium on stainless mig but I'd expect the numbers in your 2nd post to work fine.
Even 5% co2 makes it hard to polish.
You don’t want more than 2.5% CO2. You can use this as a 2 component mix with Argon or if you like you can use 2.5% CO2 mixed with varying amounts of Argon and Helium (dependant upon material thickness)
People use to use Argon + 2% O2 but to be honest, it’s not very good
