gas less wire

hi i have a old mig welder that i only use very rarely it has gas attachment but never used it ,,i have just bought a new role of gas less wire ,,if possible could i use this with the gas if i invested in a bottle or would i have to change wire

You would have to change wire.

There would be no point wasting gas using flux core wire. Wire for use with gas is 1/3 the price so save the flux core for outside work and don't be tight
