Gas leak

Hi guys I tried to do some welding yesterday, but when I turned the gas on it was leaking from the brass nut with the hole. Does anyone no what's wrong? is it knackered?

Never had any luck with those cheap regulators, mine gave you a burst of gas then not enough to cover the weld. Invest in a twin gauge single stage, you'll get one from ebay for around £20. What pressure is in your cylinder it may be too high for the reg rating.

I think the diaphragm is knackered if it's venting through the hole.

Unscrew that plug and see if there is a burst disc behind it.

Have you tried backing the pressure off ?

The nut with the hole is the pressure relief valve. If there's gas coming out of it, the regulator should be binned.
